WCP Authors To Get Their Rights Back Without Termination Fee (?)

“For those authors who prefer not to sign on under the new terms, that’s absolutely fine and we’ll continue to honor the terms of their contract as they already stand. When their license has expired they are free to go elsewhere if they wish. They’re also free to exercise their termination clause if they’d like to get out before the end of the license period. (Please be advised there will be no termination fees in the new Whiskey Creek Agreements)”

I'll believe it when I see it.

All the authors who want their rights back, and according to our poll 96% do -- 48 'yes' votes, to 2 'no. ' -- should contact Start Media immediately with a formal letter requesting termination of their contract. Please let us know how you make out.

Even if we do get out rights back, and don't hold your breath waiting, we still shouldn't let WCP off the hook. We need to force them to submit to an audit, as per the contract agreement. Authors are reporting some really suspicious stuff about a title selling well on Amazon, yet they received no royalties, etc.

No one, not Jarred from Start or WCP will explain to me what is going on. I have not signed with Start and I've asked for my rights back. The only thing they keep telling me is that they will honor my contract. But my contract was violated long ago. So are they going to pay me the money I'm owed from WCP? Are they going to provide me with the statements I've never received? If not, then aren't they violating my previous contract not honoring it? - Confused and Unhappy Author
