WCP Authors In Limbo

Not all WCP authors have received the letter of agreement and it leaves them in limbo. All attempts to contact the Womacks have been ignored.

There is no court in the land that would side with the Womacks on this one. They are in breach of the contract on so many levels. Now they've left town and the company the contract was signed with no longer exists. At least that's how it appears to me. My advice is to self publish your books on Amazon. There's no way that the Womacks or Start is going to launch a lawsuit. It would not be in their financial interests (and that's all they care about) to do so.

They have no other choice but to self publish. It's either that or their book is lost to them forever.

It's better to be in limbo than deluded. Take a look at this.

My you'd think it was Random House. Hey, just because a 'publisher' has an address in NY doesn't mean it's one of the top five. Some folks are easily deluded. Now take a look at how well this book has done with the 'New York Publishing House." (LOL)

Congratulations, Melissa, I'm glad for you. I'm curious though, how did you swing it?

I've gotten the rights back to one. In writing. The rest--the battle is still ongoing.

I really don't know. They were due to release in November anyway and I did write I thought it was a waste of effort to redo the book /publisher etc when I was just going to get it back in a few months. I wouldn't sign the new contract, looked like theft to me...

to desparate house wife. I am the author of The Madonna Files.. My book has been a consistent seller until the last month ..sales rank today is 150,000...I have been as high as 4,000. Anyway i have spent a lot of time promoting my book myself. Start IS a New York publishing company with quality titles (Night Shade) no matter what one thinks and I don't have any trouble telling people that. I think it is important to really understand that most publishers don;t promote books and I think much of the frustration with WCP stems from the fact that WCP did not do much to promote their books. I knew that going in. Large publishing house most of the time will only take a book if the author has thier own large platform. WCP offered to publish my book with out paying them - that was important to me.. They held up thier end of the bargain. I also did some math .. there was no way WCP was going to spend $3,000 to edit a book. I knew editing would be a crap shoot...It was not a great experience initially but in the end they got the book cleaned up.
